Throughout most of my childhood, my dad had a garden that he worked in almost every day. He also had some of the roughest, most calloused hands I’d ever seen. I don’t know if it was because of the gardening or because he naturally had rough hands, but even if it was the latter, the gardening certainly didn’t help.
He probably would have had smoother hands if he’d taken care of them, but my dad was not the kind of person to a use fancy creams or lotions. I, on the other hand (see what I did there?), love using lotion. I like the feeling when my hands are soft and smooth, and I intend to keep them that way for as long as I can. That’s why I was so intrigued by this effective and affordable homemade lotion recipe on 104 Homestead.
