How to Make Natural, Healthy Soda at Home

I already made a post about homemade soda a few months back, but what can I say, I really love soda. And since I vowed to never drink sodas made by giant corporations (who don’t seem to care about public health), I’ve been making my own soda lately and trying various recipes.

Recently, I discovered a recipe by Rain Country that I really like. It’s very simple and delicious. Here’s what you need.

  • 1 pint of water.
  • 1 pint of grape juice.
  • 1/4 cup of sugar.
  • 1/4 cup of fermentation starter.

Mix the ingredients together in a jar, cover it with a cloth, and leave it out for three days. Then chill it in the fridge and drink it right away because if you want too long, the fermentation will start upping the alcohol content. It tastes great, and it’s actually bubbly just like soda pop.

Watch her video below to see it done.

I have used Canada Dry sparkling water for years to zip up different fruit drinks. Instead of using three cans of water for your orange juice just use 2. When drinking put it in a tall glass with ice add about 1/3 sparkling water.
Pomegranate juice is very tart. Cutting it in half with sparkling water makes a great summer drink.
Grape juice? lemonade? Limeade? Play with them, make your own concoctions. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
