Need to build a DIY outdoor fireplace on short notice? Maybe you want to use one this evening and only have a few hours of daylight left. Or maybe you're in a survival scenario and just need something to cook on ASAP.
Whatever your reasons, it's possible to throw together a decent outdoor fireplace in just 15 to 20 minutes. And in this video, M.D. Creekmore shows you how.

Here's what you'll need:
- 20 8x8x16 cinder blocks
- 10 4x8x16 cap blocks
- 2 grates
Step 1: Build a wall of 12 cinder blocks, 3 wide by 4 high, with the cinder blocks lying end to end. The holes should be on the top and bottom except for the two cinder blocks at the bottom of the center column. Those need to be sideways so that the holes are on the front and back of the wall. It should look like the image below.
Step 2: On each end of the wall, stack 4 more cinder blocks sticking out from the wall. Again, the holes should be on the top and bottom. See the image below.
Step 3: Lay two cap blocks on the ground next to these two new walls, then lay the grate across them.
Step 4: Stack three more cap blocks on each side, then lay another grate across them. Top it off with one more cap block on each side. The final product should look like the video below.
