4 Reasons NOT To Get Chickens

Raising chickens is awesome. You get fresh eggs, chicken meat (if you want), and the satisfaction of caring for your little flock. However, it's not for everyone, and that is the topic of this video by Big Family Homestead.

Brad came up with four reasons why you might not want to get chickens. Here's his list, counted down…

    4. Attachment – Some people get really attached to pets, and these same people have a tendency to get attached to chickens as well. This is not good considering chickens only live four or five years.

    3. Dirt-o-phobia – If you can't stand being dirty, that's a huge problem because you're going to get dirty while cleaning up after your chickens.

    2. Travel – If you like to travel on vacation or have to travel for business, that's a problem because someone needs to be home to take care of the chickens and collect the eggs.

    1. Work – Although raising chickens isn't that much work (relatively speaking), you will have to do some work every day. You can't just skip a few days every now and then, so you need to be willing to work a little each day.
